Public Art

This artwork was created a few years ago. The artwork includes three different types of fish, a lane snapper, a yellow tail snapper and a rock hind located Downtown Brooklyn. I see this beautiful work almost everyday since it is so close to my house. The title is "Fish Farm" by Ben Snead. It was very creative of Snead to enlarge these different fish and placing them on grass. Looking at this artwork, I think the artist was showing the beauty of these fish in a very large way or maybe he was trying to catch peoples attention. The artwork interact with its surroundings because its only a few blocks away from the hudson river. If this work was placed in another public location or private space my perception would not change because it would still have the same meaning behind it.
